Revised House Plans

Over the past few months Sandra and I have been giving lots of thought to how we would like the final layout of our house to look. You can see from the attached floor plan we have made several modifications; I will highlight them for you:
  1. We added a small foyer to the entrance, I like a bit of separation from when you walk into the house. It provides a natural spot to put a closet.
  2. We have changed the layout of the master bedroom by extending the wall and moving the closet from the main living space to the foyer. That allowed us to shift the hallway going from the master bedroom to the master bath. It no longer goes through the wic.
  3. We changed a bedroom to a den by eliminating a closet in the room.
  4. We changed the upstairs bathroom into a powder room and moved it to mud room (I always hated when the powder room was too close to the kitchen or living room. Now I think it provides guests with a little more privacy.
  5. We eliminated the third other upstairs bedroom and shifted the kitchen to the outside wall, making it much larger and allowing for a more open concept. We will also add an island.
  6. As we are also going to finish the basement with a nice cosy woodstove, the two bedrooms will move to the basement. As it is a walkout, they will feel bright and open.
  7. I will post the basement plans when I have them finalized.
As many may have noticed my plans aren't exactly to scale but provide the basic layout of how we would like it to look. We will have Guy from Home and Sam (our builder) Hardware go over the plans and draft the final blueprints

We have been workng very closely with Guy at the Home Hardware in Miramichi, he has bee wonderful to work with. After several changes to the plans we are very happy with the results. Here is the finished layout:

    1. Hi Cynthia, I would suggest you contact Guy LeGresley at the home hardware in Miramichi, I'm sure he could arrange to get that answer for you. If you don't get an answer (which would be a surprise because Guy was amazing to work with) let me know. Jeff
